As a celebrity event planner in Atlanta, I have been fortunate to work with some fantastic people. This particular celebration was dreamed up for Monica’s daughter Laiyah Brown. She was as fascinated with Alice In Wonderland as Monica herself was, since her childhood days!
The Decor
With the use of vintage furniture pieces, uplighting, and lush florals, my talented vendor team completely transformed the space into a fantastical wonderland! We designed intricately detailed desserts that pulled various elements from the storyline. Quirky decor elements like stacked teacups, teapots in different sizes and designs, and a fabulous door backdrop all worked together to play up the theme. The Mad Hatter and The Queen of Hearts characters added the final touch of whimsy and imagination.
For the main seating, or the head table area, we re-created the famous tea party scene from the movie. With several long tables joined together, and the use of mismatched chairs of various sizes, shapes, we captured the effect of a mad tea party!
The Details
As far as attention to details goes, this party was full of delicious details to please the eye everywhere one looked! The custom table linens had large clocks imprinted on them. The fantastic and magical birthday cake was 4 feet high, and had all the elements that one might expect of an Alice in Wonderland cake. We even made sure the Mad Hatter had striking green eyes, just like the character in the original story!
The guests had a wonderful time with a live magic show, and bouncing castles and trackless trains set up on the lawn. They enjoyed dancing the evening away with the DJ, on the black and white checkered floor. The Mad Hatter and The Queen of Hearts kept everyone entertained with their silly poses and providing photo opportunities galore!
