When Monica mentioned her son Rocko loves animals, more specifically reptiles, we just KNEW we had to put together a spectacular safari party for him!
The Venue
When planning kids parties, I really focus on the entertainment element first. While kids appreciate the special little touches of decor elements, what they really remember is the FUN factor! For this safari party, we rented out Treetop Quest in Dunwoody, GA. Treetop Quest is an aerial adventure park that delivers huge doses of adrenaline as you maneuver from tree to tree through obstacles and zip-lines. Let’s suffice it to say the kids AND adults had a fantastic time swinging through the trees, living a day in the life of a safari monkey!
The Cake
The safari cake was a real showstopper, and tasted as good as it looks! The helmet, the tree truck and the water canteen were all edible elements of the cake, in different flavors. Monica had specifically requested a “not so tall” cake, so we went more horizontal with the design, like a real safari park would be, and it turned out so amazing!
The Entertainment
In addition to the guests being able to zipline their hearts out, we had a live reptile show. Our reptile entertainer safely walked around the guests holding a couple of his scaly pets at a time. The kids had a fun time learning about various animals, and even touching them if they wanted to! Each place setting included an interactive quiz and puzzle about safari animals, which the kids enjoyed cracking with their friends as they devoured all the safari-themed desserts and goodies.
The Decor
For the decor, we went all out with mosquito net canopies, a straw-covered beverage hut, fresh pineapples and tree trunk slices, faux snakes hanging overhead, and so many other cool details!
